Geumsan Jaemyeonso(금산제면소)

Geumsan Jemyeonso doesn’t have a separate sign.

The main menu of Gwanghwamun rice soup, pork rice soup, is 8,500 won, and the special size of pork rice soup is 11,500 won.
In addition, there are Pyeongyang naengmyeon, buckwheat hot noodles, pork, and blood sausage, as well as steamed beef ribs and steamed Korean beef.

The most famous and store-like main menu, pork and rice soup.

It’s empty because there are no people, but the seats are full during mealtime.
But the gap is quite wide, so I think it’s very good.

Gwanghwamun rice soup is made of black pork meat and seasoned.
You can choose the salted shrimp according to your preference and the sauce according to your preference.

It’s a bowl of rice in a large bowl and it’s pork and rice soup that’s not lacking at all.
The side dishes are Chonggak kimchi, salted squid, soybean paste, and red pepper garlic.

It was quite delicious because the rice was full, and the soup was not too salty and the clear and cool taste was excellent!

AhnAm(안암)

Anam, which was selected as a Michelin guide in 2024, is uniquely served with pork rice soup and coriander.
Cheongyang red pepper oil floats on the deep soup, and the spicy and light taste is excellent.

The visual of rice soup is very unique.

What stands out is the green oil floating on the soup, which seems to be the rain greens and Cheongyang red pepper oil that we saw earlier.
And there is an appropriate amount of coriander.
The soup itself is transparent… The taste of the soup is clear and deep.
Cheongyang red pepper oil came in, but it doesn’t feel very spicy. Still, it was distinctive because it felt slightly stimulating.

Then he picked up a piece of meat. This is said to be a Spanish breed of pig called Durok, and it had a texture that felt like a lot of effort.
It contains two pieces of back ribs and several pieces of thin meat, both of which were so soft that I could feel that I took enough time.

And rice seems to be trying to diversify the texture.
I thought the rice was delicious enough.
But compared to the special taste of the meat, it feels somewhat normal.
It had a unique taste because it was mixed with coriander, but rice soup is very good to eat with kimchi because it is rice soup.

 


Chanyangjip(찬양집)

– Location: 5, Donhwamun-ro 11-da-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul
– Opening hours: 10:00-21:00

This place started from 20 won in one place in 1965.
Now, the kalguksu is 8,000 won. It’s a place with a really long history.
And it has been registered in the Michelin Guide for three consecutive years from 2017 to 2019.

The menu here is noodle soup with seafood, meat dumplings, and kimchi dumplings.
Kalguksu contains clams, mussels, and sea squirts.
According to the people who have been there, the noodles were chewy more than I thought, so the taste of chewing was so good. It’s the texture of eating rice cake.
In the case of soup, clam kalguksu tastes more like clam kalguksu than deep seafood kalguksu.

The refreshing soup from the seafood tasted good. But the seasoning of the soup is a little salty.
If you eat it blandly, you might think it’s a little salty. The sauce is based on soy sauce, but it’s a bit spicy rather than salty.
If the seasoning is bland, you can add the sauce, but the unique soup of seafood kalguksu is lighter than the sauce.

The general review of the praise book is not a crazy taste. It’s a taste that everyone would know. Maybe it’s because of the combination of that taste and the atmosphere of old po, it feels different. Maybe that’s why I sometimes think of the taste that I want to visit once in a while and feel like my grandmother’s home-cooked meal.

Braised short ribs with ginseng for 33,000 won

The large tile-roofed house is located about 100m away from the Jeongdok Library in Samcheong-dong.
The “Korean Master” mark at the entrance makes you feel the heart of a craftsman who has lived for 30 years after looking at only one food.
I feel more overwhelmed because it is a place where even Westerners who don’t seem to know Korean food at all acknowledged it.

The Michelin Guide says that it is the place where the judges actually struggled the most when selecting.
Usually, I visit this place 2-3 times during the restaurant evaluation, but it is said that I visited this place more than 5 times.

I don’t think it was familiar to them because they were not raw fish and blue crabs.

I don’t know if it’s because it’s been aired a lot, but there are a lot of foreign customers.
Among them, there are many Chinese customers, and most of them were Chinese customers.

Soy Sauce Marinated Crab is really filling and delicious.
Usually, when you eat soy sauce marinated crab, it’s rare to have crab meat on your legs, but this restaurant’s marinated crab was really full on your legs.
It’s the best combination if you wrap or mix it with soy sauce marinated crab and seaweed

Maybe because the marinated crab is a little spicy, my tongue keeps tingling. But it’s hard to realize this delicious and spicy taste.
